I went to Universal Studios in Florida for the first time and it actually gave me a better appreciation for Disney! Overall I had fun and got to experience so many new things. Like Universal CityWalk, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The only park that I didn't get to was Volcano Bay.

Ok so here are my takeaways from going to Universal. Let's talk safety. I have never felt more unsafe than going to Universal. One of their bus drivers only secured the back of my mobility scooter. I get it..it's a pain for them to have to secure it with all the things, but that is for our safety. I had the bus drivers that grab my mobility scooter and turn down the speed or won't let me put it where it needs to go, I had drivers who would ignore me (they don't have a dedicated space for handicapped people like Disney does) and I had drivers who really didn't know how to work the ramp.

The attractions are all rollercoasters or motion simulators and 3D. I can't really do these types of rides that well. So I only went on like 4 rides. Also the rides aren't very fluffy-friendly. I tried the test seat for the Jimmy Fallon one and couldn't fasten the seatbelt.

We went on the MIB ride. It is similar to Buzz Lightyear in that you have a gun and you shoot aliens. But there are 2 spots where the ride spins you very fast and I am just not up to those anymore. I used to love spinning rides, and I can still do a little, but this was very fast.

They use a paper disability pass. You have to go to guest services and tell them what your disability needs are and they give you a paper pass. You take that to each attraction and get a return time equivalent to the standby wait time. You can only have 1 return time at a time.

The best part about Universal Parks is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I do have to say I liked Diagon Alley much more than Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade just felt very cramped and was difficult with my scooter to get around in.

I tried both hot and frozen Butterbeer. I preferred the hot myself. It was like drinking a butterscotch candy. I loved it! I also got to eat at The Leaky Cauldron. I chose to get the Bangers and Mash. A very traditional English meal. It was ok. The sausage was seasoned pretty well. It definitely tasted like theme park fast food.

Right after I had gotten there, they announced no more masks were required indoors if you were vaccinated, so I didn't have to wear a mask except the day I arrived. I didn't see much in the way of cleaning except in the restaurants.

I got to experience their version of Mardi Gras. They have a handicap area which is always nice because then I don't have to worry about people trying to stand in front of me and I can't see. We got so many beads and I actually caught some!!

Mardi Gras was so much fun. Everything was decorated and they had special food which I didn't try. The parade was a little risque at times but nothing over the top! If you want to watch it click here.
