With the 4th of July coming up, that means the summer holidays will be about half over. Memorial Day is gone and next is Labor Day. I know many people use these 3 summer holidays to have fun and take trips!
I know we did growing up. Now as an adult, I am normally working but these traditions continue for many! So let's talk about how people with disabilities and medical conditions can survive these summer holidays!
First thing is, try and stay as close to your normal schedule as possible. Just like with kids, your best bet is to try and wake at the same time every day, go to bed at the same time every day, take your meds and eat close to the same time every day. I am sure you get the picture. Consistency helps us manage our medical conditions better!

Next is an oldie but a goodie, hydrate. Yes folks drink your fluids! This is more important when things are different or if you are busier than normal! I have been making more flavored water lately and it really is helping me drink more! Find some powders or liquid water flavoring and add it to your water! I get mine at Walmart you can use my link here!
The other thing you should be doing is protecting your skin from the sun., Use sunblock and wear appropriate clothing to cover your skin. Wear hats for your head and sunglasses to protect your eyes! The sun is especially hard on people with multiple medical conditions and fibromyalgia.
If you overdo it, give yourself grace because you are only human and then let yourself rest and recover! You might want to look into electrolyte replacement products and possibly some vitamins!
