One of the questions I get asked a lot is why I like Disneyland so much? As a disabled woman, visiting Disneyland reminds me of when I was a child and life was before me and nothing could hurt me and there was possibility in everything!

Since starting this blog, Disabled Disney, and writing about Disney disability info I have made friends and connections with people I wouldn't have otherwise met. It has given me a whole new appreciation for Disney.

This whole post will be about meeting characters at Disneyland. I don't know Walt Disney World yet because I haven't been yet. Hopefully, in June that will be changing but it depends on the situation with travel.

So in the morning and sometimes the afternoon, you can meet different characters on Main Street U.S.A. They rotate who is out but it's normally Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Chip and Dale. We have encountered Cruella DeVille also on Main Street U.S.A. but that tends to be more toward August, September and October. To meet these characters just be on the very beginning of Main Street U.S.A up by the train station.

If you want to meet characters that are normally out and about think about a Character Dining meal. At Minnie and Friends Breakfast in the Park, you get a buffet-style breakfast and get to meet characters like Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, Max and many others. This is at Plaza Inn at the end of Main Steet U.S.A on the Tomorrowland side.

We have done this Character Meal several times. If you have kiddos who meeting Characters is super important this will knock out a lot while you eat breakfast. Also some of the Characters you can't find anywhere else in the Parks!

Captain Hook stole our salt and pepper shakers. He also tried to steal my wedding rings but when I told him they were fake he waved his hand and turned his nose up at me! He also does a hook motion with his finger and has you do it with him!

In Toon Town you can meet Mickey Mouse at Mickey's House, Minnie Mouse at Minnie's House, Goofy is normally standing on the street as well as Pluto. Toon Town is filled with the character's houses. Just walk around Toon Town.

In Critter Country, Winnie the Pooh and Friends can be found! Near the shop at Pooh's Corner is the area for them. You can find Winnie the Pooh, of course, Tigger, Piglet, Eyeore and meet them all!!! When we met Tigger and Eyeore it was so much fun!

My little sister was with us this trip and she had brought a little stuffed Tigger because Tigger is her favorite. She wanted to show little Tigger to Tigger. When we got to Tigger and she showed the little Tigger to Tigger he was so bouncy it made Eyeore MAD!! So Eyeore grabbed little Tigger and tried to throw him in the trash can. But the Cast Member handler saved the day and saved little Tigger!!! And then we took pictures with Tigger, little Tigger and Eyeore!

If you want to meet the Princesses you need to go to Fantasy Faire. Fantasy Faire is in Fantasyland by Sleeping Beauty Castle. Although we have seen them sometimes on Main Street U.S.A or even by the Mickey topiary when you are coming into the Park!

Another very popular spot is Pixie Hollow where you can meet Tinkerbelle and all the fairies! Pixie Hollow can be found in Fantasyland but it's right on the edge of Tomorrowland. Try and go early in the morning because you can have a long wait during the day.

Have your kids prepare questions for the characters because they will talk with you and they will ask you about your items like your phone or camera! They will call your personal items whatever they would be in their universe.

A word of warning though: don't be that parent that says inappropriate comments about the costumes or outfits. These people work hard to put on this show for you, your family and everyone else that goes. Be respectful of them. Don't try and make them "break character" they study long and hard for these positions and doing the autographs.

OK back to the fun! You can sometimes meet Captain Jack Sparrow and Pirate Redd in New Orleans Square. We met Pirate Redd and she was fun! If you don't know who she is Redd is the female pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean.

You can meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen in Disney's California Adventure in Hollywoodland at Meet Anna & Elsa area. They are super popular so be prepared to wait. It is indoors though so at least you are out of the sun.

You can meet Toy Story Characters on Pixar Pier by Toy Story Midway Mania. It is always a popular meet and greet so again be prepared for lines. We have met Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jesse.

You can meet the guys from Cars in Radiator Springs! When you walk into Radiator Springs walk right down Route 66 and by the Cozy Cone Motel (where you can get some tasty snacks) is where the Residents of Radiator Springs come out to meet you!!

If you want to see superheroes you can currently meet them in Hollywoodland but soon...they will be in Avenger's Campus! Check out my post on what we are looking forward to here. You can meet Spider-Man, Loki, Black Panther, Captain America, Black Widow and many others.

In Galaxy's Edge, you can meet Star Wars Characters like Rey, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and Storm Troopers! They will have you join in the fun and if they are part of the Resistance you can help them hide from the First Order. They have someone who is "the rebel spy". Check out our videos on Galaxy's Edge! Click here.

Sometimes you can find characters wearing special outfits like at Christmas, Halloween or when they do special events. Last year for Get Your Ears On the Fab 5 and friends were in colorful outfits.

Also just keep your eyes open because sometimes they have Characters in just random spots around the Parks. Or you could see them walking to or from them being out in the Parks. Most of the time if they are walking you can't get a picture or autograph but you can say hi and wave!

The best part about all of this is the accessibility! Disney is so wonderfully accessible for not only mobility disabilities but visual and hearing as well.

So when they open head to Disneyland and meet some Characters. It is an amazing experience and I love it as an adult. You won't regret it.

Now how do you get there you ask? Well, you book through Get Away Today of course!
